# Migrate Azure DevOps Repository

Learn how to migrate repositories from Azure DevOps to GitHub using the ado2gh CLI tool.

- **Who is this for**: DevOps engineers, developers, and IT teams looking to migrate from Azure DevOps to GitHub
- **What you'll learn**: How to set up migration tools, configure permissions, and migrate repositories using GitHub's official migration tools
- **What you'll build**: A complete Azure DevOps repository migration workflow with mock repository setup and the ado2gh CLI extension for migration
- **Prerequisites**:

- Basic knowledge of Git and version control
  - Azure DevOps subscription (free tier is sufficient)
  - GitHub organization owner access (free tier is sufficient)
  - Familiarity with command-line tools

- **How long**: This exercise takes less than 60 minutes to complete.

In this exercise, you will:

1. Set up a mock Azure DevOps project.
1. Configure GitHub migration tools and permissions
1. Migrate the Azure DevOps repository to GitHub
1. Integrate a GitHub repository with Azure DevOps Boards and Pipelines
