An AI-integrated MERN stack platform where users can create or join real-time voice-based or video-based group discussions, interact with peers, and receive automated AI-generated feedback.

## 🧠 AI API Usage

We integrated OpenAI's GPT API to generate smart feedback for group discussion sessions.

- **API Used**: `gpt-3.5-turbo`
- **Endpoint**: POST `/api/feedback`
- **Prompt Includes**: Topic + Transcript of the GD
- **Output**: Summary and improvement suggestions

⚠️ Note: If no OpenAI key is set, the feedback may not generate. Add your API key in the `.env` file under:

## ⚙️ Setup Instructions

### 1. Clone the Repo

```
git clone https://github.com/yashwanthmk11/gd-platform.git
cd gd-platform
2. Environment Variables
🔐 Backend .env

MONGO_URI=your_mongodb_connection
JWT_SECRET=your_jwt_secret
OPENAI_API_KEY=your_openai_key
PORT=5000
🌐 Frontend .env (client/.env or frontend/.env)

REACT_APP_API_BASE_URL=https://gd-platform-3.onrender.com
▶️ Run Locally
Backend
cd server
npm install
npm run dev

Frontend
cd  frontend
npm install
npm start
🧪 Test the Flow
Register/Login

Create GD Session — /create-session

Join Room — /voice/:joinCode

View AI Feedback — /feedback

🌍 Deployment
Frontend deployed to Vercel

Backend deployed to Render

MongoDB Atlas used for data storage
