# Spectral Delay v2

A stereo spectral delay audio plugin (CLAP/VST3) built with Rust and [nih-plug](https://github.com/robbert-vdh/nih-plug).

Each frequency bin gets a different delay time — low frequencies are delayed more than highs — creating a distinctive cascading/smearing effect. The **sweep shape** parameter controls how steeply delay falls off across the spectrum.

- Per-bin spectral delay with fractional-frame interpolation (2048-point STFT, 4x overlap)
- Independent L/R delay time and feedback controls, with link toggle
- Sweep shape parameter to bend the frequency-to-delay curve
- Dry/wet mix
- Mono and stereo layouts
- CLAP and VST3 formats

## Parameters

| Feedback R  | 0–95%      | 30%     | Feedback amount for right channel |
| Link L/R    | on/off     | off     | Link L/R delay and feedback       |
| Mix         | 0–100%     | 50%     | Dry/wet balance                   |
| Sweep Shape | 0.2–3.0    | 1.0     | Frequency-to-delay curve exponent |

## Building

You need a Rust toolchain. Install one via [rustup](https://rustup.rs/).

git clone https://github.com/djlansom/spectral-delay-v2.git
cd spectral-delay-v2

# Build the plugin in release mode
cargo xtask bundle spectral_delay_v2 --release
```

Bundled plugins will be in `target/bundled/`.

## Installation

Copy the plugin from `target/bundled/` to your system's plugin directory:

- **CLAP** — copy `Spectral Delay v2.clap` to your CLAP folder
- **VST3** — copy `Spectral Delay v2.vst3` to your VST3 folder
