# AZ-EditText
Customizable EditText for Android

## Features:
- Change all attrs from code and xml
- Set radius to the EditText border
- Change stroke size and active/inactive/error stroke color
- Hanldes hide/show password automatically with a single attr (app:handlePassword="true") 
- Change start drawable when the EditText is active or inactive
- Add start and/or end drawables
- Add start text
- Add click listener on start drawable, end drawable, and start text

## Setup

#### Add this in your root build.gradle file
```gradle
allprojects {
  repositories {
    ...
    maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
  }
}
```
#### Add this to your module's build.gradle file
```gradle
dependencies {
      implementation 'com.github.omarzer0:az-edittext:0.1.2'
}
```

## Usage
* Basic usage
```xml
      <az.zero.az_edit_text.AZEditText
        android:layout_width="match_parent"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        app:activeStrokeColor="#4CAF50"
        app:inactiveStrokeColor="#F1F1F1"
        app:containerRadius="8dp"
        app:containerStrokeWidth="1dp"
        app:hint="Username"
        app:startDrawable="@drawable/selector_person"
        app:textSize="16sp" />
```

* Set click listeners on each drawable and start text
```kotlin
        edPhone.setOnStartDrawableClick {
            Toast.makeText(this, "start drawable clicked", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show()
        }

edPhone.setOnStartTextClick {
            Toast.makeText(this, "start text clicked", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show()
        }

edPhone.setOnEndDrawableClick {
            Toast.makeText(this, "end drawable clicked", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show()
        }
```

* Observe text changes
```kotlin
   edPhone.setOnTextChange { text, length ->
            Log.d(TAG, "text changed=> length:$length text:$text\n")
   }
```

- If you want the start (drawable/color) to change when the EditText is active or inactive you can use a selector as following:
  - First create a selector
  
  ```xml
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
      <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
          
          <item android:drawable="@drawable/ic_person_primary" android:state_activated="true" />

<item android:drawable="@drawable/ic_person" />
      </selector>
  ```
  - Then add it to the start drawable
  
  ```xml
       <az.zero.az_edit_text.AZEditText
            android:layout_width="match_parent"
            android:layout_height="wrap_content"
            ...
            app:startDrawable="@drawable/selector_person" />
  ```
