> **Using .NET 9?** Version 2.0.0 targets .NET 10 only, because .NET 9 reached end of

## ⚠️ Migrating to 2.0

Three behavioural changes. The first two only affect iOS.

**1. `Zoom` is now a multiple of the fit scale on iOS.**
It previously passed straight through to PDFKit's `ScaleFactor`, which is relative to the
PDF's intrinsic size, while Android already treated it as a multiple of the fitted size.
`Zoom="2.0"` therefore rendered at roughly 3× the fitted page on iOS but 2× on Android.
Both platforms now mean "twice the fitted page". If you were passing absolute scale factors
on iOS, divide by your fit scale.

**2. An unset `BackgroundColor` is now transparent.**
iOS previously showed PDFKit's opaque grey backdrop and Android its own opaque default,
which hid anything sharing the viewer's grid cell. Both are now transparent by default.
Set `BackgroundColor` explicitly if you want the old appearance.

**3. .NET 9 is no longer supported.** See the note above.

Two fixes worth knowing about, since code may have been working around them:

- **`MinZoom`/`MaxZoom` now actually apply.** They never reached the native controls, so
  zoom bounds were whatever each platform defaulted to. The `OnRendered` +
  `MinScaleFactor` workaround circulated for iOS is no longer needed.
- **`BackgroundColor` can now be cleared.** Assigning `null` previously left the last
  colour in place.

#### A note on zoom values

`Zoom`, `MinZoom`, and `MaxZoom` are **multiples of the fit scale** — the scale at which the
document fits the view under the current `FitPolicy` — not percentages of the PDF's intrinsic
size. So `1.0` is the fitted document, `2.0` is twice that size, and `MinZoom="1.0"` means
"never zoom out past fitted". Because the values are relative, they stay meaningful when the
view resizes or the device rotates.

### PdfSource Types

The `PdfSource` class supports automatic string conversion via implicit operators and TypeConverter, making it easy to use in both XAML and code.

### Link Interception

Both iOS and Android support intercepting link taps before navigation occurs. This allows you to handle links yourself or prevent navigation entirely.

**Note**: Annotation tap detection is only supported on iOS with PDFKit. Android's AhmerPdfium library does not expose annotation tap events.

## ❓ Troubleshooting

### Links Not Working on iOS

If links are not responding on iOS, ensure:

1. `EnableLinkNavigation = true` (default)
2. The PDF actually contains link annotations
3. You're not setting `e.Handled = true` for all links in the `LinkTapped` event

### Tapped Event Not Firing

The `Tapped` event requires:

**Note**: When `EnableTapGestures = true`, it may interfere with native link handling on some platforms. For link detection only, keep it `false` (default) and use the `LinkTapped` event.

### LinkTapped Event Handler Not Called

Ensure you're subscribing to the event:

```csharp
pdfViewer.LinkTapped += OnLinkTapped;
```

Or in XAML:

```xml
<pdf:PdfView LinkTapped="OnLinkTapped" />
```

### Android Annotation Events

Annotation tap events (`AnnotationTapped`) are **only supported on iOS**. The Android AhmerPdfium library does not expose annotation-level tap detection. Use the `Tapped` event as an alternative for Android.
