# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/riversun/chatux

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd chatux

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Node.js

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
Node.js Node.js must be installed to use npm. The LTS version is recommended.

Type this command into your terminal and run it.

npm install chatux --save

Downloads and installs the libraries listed in package.json.

npm init

Type this command into your terminal and run it.

✅ After running the command, open the address shown in the terminal (usually something like http://localhost:3000) in your browser.

# Overview

'chatux' is a library that allows you to easily create chat windows on your PC or mobile

It is licensed under [MIT](https://opensource.org/licenses/MIT) license.

### What is '**chatux**' like?

It is an independent and lightweight chat user interface (chat UI) library for javascript.

- You can create pages for chat agents and chat bots that support both smartphones and PCs.
- For PC, show chat in a window that does not disturb existing content
- For mobile devices like smart phones and tablets, chat UI will be overlaid on existing pages to avoid disturbing
  existing content

**How to play demo.**

This demo is simple echo chat. But a few command available.If you write "show buttons", you can see action buttons in

# How it works

The system of **chatux** is very simple.

Let's look at the execution sequence of **chatux**.

Suppose you have a chat server for **chatux** at http://localhost:8080/chat
Specify server endpoint like this.

The following is the sequence.

    1. **chatux** sends user input text to chat server.  
       GET http://localhost:8080/chat?text=hello

    2. The server processes user input text and returns a response as JSON.

So, if you create chat server that can do this kind of interaction, you can easily create chatbots etc.

Next, let's see how to render.

# Chat server

Let's create a simple chat server.

* initialize npm project and install express

* Write a simple server that returns json.

# Custom query parameters

There are two approaches to specifying query parameters.

1.Custom query parameters can be set at initialization.

```js
chatux.init({
  api: {
    endpoint: 'http://localhost:8080/chat',
    method: 'GET',
    dataType: 'json',
    params: {
      'param1': 'value1',
      'param2': 'value2'
    }
  }
});

```

chat ux will send parameters like 'https://example.com/api?param1=value1&param2=value2'

2.Custom parameters can be set at each request.

```js
chatux.init({
  api: {
    endpoint: 'http://localhost:8080/chat',
    method: 'GET',
    dataType: 'json',
  },
  methods: {
    onPrepareRequest: (httpClient) => {
      //intercept http request before sending and set query parameters
      httpClient.params.param1 = 'value1';
      httpClient.params.param2 = 'value2';
    },
    onFinishRequest: (httpClient) => {
      //delete params after sending

If nothing is set, only the query parameter named 'text' will be set when you tap send button.

# Custom Http Headers

There are two approaches to set http headers.

1.Custom headeres can be set at initialization.

You can specify http-headers like as follows.

  api: {
    endpoint: 'http://localhost:8080/chat',
    method: 'GET',
    dataType: 'json',
    escapeUserInput: true,
    headers: {
      'Authorization': 'Bearer ABCD123ABCD123ABCD123',

2.Custom headers can be set at each request.

**Note**

- Http headers cannot be sent when using jsonp.
- Don't forget 'Access-Control-Allow-Headers' when accessing with cors :)

# How to render a chat UI

Since chatux can render various variations of chat UI, I introduce them below. I want to show raw JSON and code example
for chat server respectively.

### Show text
