# `jail_app.conf` Patcher

This script will patch the current `jail_app.conf`/`jail_app.conf.sig` to
generate a crashd-compatible version.

## Warning

Note that while the configuration that it generates will work for the crashd
exploit, it will not necessarily be appropriate for your webOS version. This may
cause issues if you intend to use other Developer Mode functionality. The script
backs up the original `jail_app.conf` and `jail_app.conf.sig`, which you can
restore to `/media/developer` manually. Disabling and re-enabling Developer Mode
should also cause the latest configuration to be downloaded from LG.

## How-to

1. Download `jailpatch.sh` to your TV:
    ```
    curl -L -o /tmp/jailpatch.sh https://raw.githubusercontent.com/throwaway96/install-jail-conf/main/jailpatch.sh
    ```
2. Run `jailpatch.sh` on the TV:
    ```
    sh /tmp/jailpatch.sh
    ```
3. If verification was successful, reboot the TV for the new configuration to
   take effect.
