# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/rossborchers/UnityBoundingVolumeHeirachy

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd UnityBoundingVolumeHeirachy

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Node.js

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
Node.js Node.js must be installed to use npm. The LTS version is recommended.

npm install

Downloads and installs the libraries listed in package.json.

npm start

Starts the development/run server.

✅ After running the command, open the address shown in the terminal (usually something like http://localhost:3000) in your browser.

# Unity Bounding Volume Heirachy

Dynamic Unity 3d BVH - 3d Bounding Volume Hierarchy.

### About

This is a 3d Bounding Volume Hiearchy implementation for Unity in C#. It is used for sorting objects that occupy 
volume and answering geometric queries about them; such as ray, box, and sphere intersection.

It includes an efficient algorithm for incrementally re-optimizing the BVH when contained objects move. This variation works in Unity and supports GameObjects.

### Notable Modifications

- Supports GameObjects through a custom implementation of IBVHNodeAdapter (BVHGameObjectAdapter). Uses child renderers bounds to calculate bounds. Could be easily swapped out for any other bounds calculation. See BVHGameObjectAdaptor.GetBounds.
- BVHHelper provides a radial node traversal test to be used with Traverse().
- Code has been refactored to be _closer_ to the .NET naming conventions.
- Includes some tests that can be used as a starting reference.
