## 앱 ID (App IDs)
App Store 앱에는 각각 2개의 고유한 ID가 있습니다:

mas 명령어는 두 가지 유형의 앱 ID를 모두 인자로 허용합니다.
기본적으로 숫자로만 이루어진 앱 ID는 ADAM ID로 간주되며, 그 외의 앱 ID는 bundle ID로 간주됩니다.
`--bundle`을 사용하면 숫자로만 이루어진 앱 ID도 bundle ID로 강제 간주할 수 있습니다.
ADAM ID는 다음 방법으로 찾을 수 있습니다:
- `mas search …`
- `mas list`
- App Store:
1. 앱의 App Store 페이지를 엽니다.
2. 페이지의 공유 시트(Share Sheet)를 엽니다.
3. `복사`를 선택합니다.
4. 복사한 텍스트의 URL에서 ADAM ID를 추출합니다. 예: `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/xcode/id497799835?mt=12`에서 `497799835` 추출.

## JSON 앱 출력 (JSON App Output)
`list`, `outdated`, `search`는 일반적으로 각 앱의 몇 가지 필드를 행 단위로 나누어 표 형식의 데이터를 출력합니다.
`lookup`은 일반적으로 앱마다 빈 줄을 두고 연속된 블록 형태로 각 필드를 키-값 쌍(key-value pair)으로 줄마다 출력합니다.
`--json`이 제공되면, 이 명령어들은 Apple이 해당 앱에 대해 제공하는 모든 필드를 포함하는 JSON 객체 스트림을 앱당 하나씩 출력합니다.
Apple이 제공하는 키 중 상당수는 이름이 좋지 않으므로, 알고리즘을 통해 더 나은 이름으로 매핑됩니다.
매핑된 키는 [정렬됩니다](

).
각 키는 객체 내에서 고유해야 하며, 객체에 중복된 키가 있는 경우 입력에서의 상대적 순서가 출력에도 유지됩니다.
표 형식 출력의 경우, 객체에 중복된 키가 있으면 마지막 값이 사용됩니다.
Apple이 키의 이름을 변경하거나 추가하는 경우, 매핑이 업데이트될 때까지 차선책의 키가 출력될 수 있습니다.

## JSON 설정 출력 (JSON Config Output)
`config`는 일반적으로 설정을 키-값 쌍으로 줄마다 하나씩 출력합니다.
`--json`이 제공되면, `config`는 모든 설정을 단일 JSON 객체로 출력합니다.
키는 mas에 의해 정의되므로 고유성과 정확성이 보장됩니다.

## 스포트라이트 (Spotlight)
`list`, `outdated`, `get`, `install`, `lucky`, `update`, `uninstall`은 설치된 앱에 대한 데이터를 스포트라이트 메타데이터 서비스(MDS)에서 가져옵니다.
따라서 App Store 앱이 포함된 폴더에 대해 스포트라이트 색인화(indexing)가 활성화되어 있고 유효해야 합니다.
앱이 스포트라이트에 제대로 색인되었는지 확인하는 방법:

앱이 스포트라이트에 색인되어 있는 경우, ADAM ID를 통해 앱의 경로를 찾는 방법:

## Root Privileges
`get`, `install`, `lucky`, `update` & `uninstall` 명령어는 루트 권한이 필요합니다.
루트 권한 없이 실행하면, mas는 필요에 따라 권한을 요청합니다.
mas는 기존의 유효한 sudo 자격 증명을 사용하며, 이것이 실패할 경우 macOS 사용자 암호를 입력받는 프롬프트로 대체합니다. 입력된 암호는 sudo 프로세스로 직접 전달되며, mas가 암호를 볼 수도 없고 저장하지도 않습니다.
mas에 의해 사용되거나 생성된 모든 sudo 자격 증명은 사용자가 설정한 sudo 타임아웃에 따라 mas가 종료된 후에도 유효한 상태로 유지됩니다.

## App Store Apple Account Requirements
`get`, `install`, `lucky`, `update` & `outdated --accurate` 명령어는 App Store에 로그인된 Apple Account가 필요합니다.

## App Store Apple Account Requirements for `get`
`get` 명령어는 App Store에 로그인된 Apple Account가 필요합니다.
Apple Account가 이미 App Store에 로그인되어 있는 경우에도, 시스템 보안 설정에 따라 다운로드하려는 각 앱마다 Apple Account 인증을 요구할 수 있습니다.
`System Settings` > `Touch ID & Password` > `Use Touch ID for purchases in iTunes Store, App Store and Apple Books` 설정이 다음과 같을 때:
- `Enabled`: 다운로드하는 각 앱마다 (Touch ID 또는 Apple Account 암호를 통해) 인증해야 합니다.
- `Disabled`: 만약 `System Settings` > `Apple Account` > `Media & Purchases` > `Free Downloads` 설정이 다음과 같다면:
- `Always Require`: 다운로드하는 각 앱마다 (Apple Account 암호를 통해) 인증해야 합니다.
- `Never Require`: 추가 인증 없이 앱이 다운로드됩니다.

\*\*참고:\*\* App Store 인증은 앱을 다운로드하기 위해 루트 권한을 부여하는 데 필요한 macOS 사용자 인증과는 별개입니다.

`outdated` 및 `update` 명령어에서 앱의 구버전 여부는 다음 2가지 설정을 통해 구성할 수 있습니다:

### Concepts & Constraints
\*\*릴리스(Release)\*\*는 사용자에게 배포되는 앱의 빌드입니다.
\*\*버전(Version)\*\*은 동일한 앱의 다른 모든 릴리스와 비교하여 릴리스의 순서를 매기는 레이블입니다.
[iTunes Search API](https://performance-partners.apple.com/search-api)는 자신이 인식하는 최신 릴리스에 대한 앱 데이터만 보고하며, 결과적 일관성(Eventual consistency) 지연으로 인해 API가 App Store에서 사용 가능한 최신 릴리스를 인식하지 못할 수 있습니다.

### Minimum macOS Check
- `--check-min-os` (기본값): 구버전 앱 목록을 필터링하여 [iTunes Search API](https://performance-partners.apple.com/search-api)가 보고한 릴리스가 현재 사용 중인 macOS와 호환되는 앱만 포함합니다.
- `--no-check-min-os`: 구버전 앱을 필터링하지 않습니다. 이 설정은 여러 개의 최신 릴리스가 존재하고 일부는 현재 macOS와 호환되지만 가장 최신 버전은 호환되지 않을 때 유용합니다. 이 설정을 사용하면 최신 릴리스가 설치된 릴리스보다 최신이지만 현재 macOS와 호환되지 않는 앱은 다음과 같이 처리됩니다:
- `outdated`: 구버전으로 보고되어 위음성(False negative)을 방지하지만, 위양성(False positive)을 유발할 수 있습니다.
- `update`: 현재 macOS와 호환되는 가장 최신 릴리스(설치된 버전이거나 더 최신이지만 절대 최신은 아닐 수 있는 버전)를 설치할 수 있는 대화상자를 표시합니다.

2가지 구버전 앱 감지 모드는 상호 배타적인 플래그를 통해 선택할 수 있습니다:

#### `--inaccurate` (기본값)
inaccurate 모드는 다음 사항에 최적화되어 있습니다:
- 빠른 속도 유지
- 멈춤(hang) 현상 방지
- 대화상자 표시 방지 (`--no-check-min-os`가 제공되지 않은 경우)
- App Store에 Apple Account가 로그인되어 있지 않아도 모든 Apple Account가 소유한 구버전 앱을 보고 (단, 앱 업데이트는 App Store에 로그인된 Apple Account로만 가능)
설치된 앱의 버전을 [iTunes Search API](https://performance-partners.apple.com/search-api)가 보고하는 버전과 [Semantic Versions](https://semver.org) 기준으로 비교하며, 빌드 메타데이터를 통해 동점을 해결합니다.
이 모드는 잠재적인 오탐(false positive) 및 미탐(false negative)이 발생할 수 있습니다:
- \*\*버전 불일치:\*\* 일부 앱의 경우, iTunes Search API가 다른 모든 App Store 시스템 및 설치된 앱이 보고하는 동일 릴리스의 버전과 지속적으로 다른 버전을 보고하여 오탐 또는 미탐을 유발합니다.
- \*\*최종 일관성 지연(Eventual consistency delays):\*\* App Store와 iTunes Search API 간의 지연으로 인해 미탐이 발생할 수 있습니다.
#### `--accurate`
accurate 모드는 속도 저하, 잠재적인 멈춤 현상 및 대화상자 표시를 감수하면서 오탐과 미탐을 방지하도록 최적화되어 있습니다.
다운로드 메타데이터에서 올바른 최신 버전을 얻기 위해 App Store에서 설치된 앱의 최신 릴리스 다운로드를 시작합니다. 이후의 동작은 명령에 따라 다릅니다:
- `outdated`: 각 다운로드는 즉시 취소되며, 앱의 버전이 다운로드 메타데이터 버전과 다를 경우 구버전으로 보고됩니다.
- `update`: 설치된 버전이 다운로드 메타데이터 버전과 동일한 경우에만 다운로드가 취소됩니다. 그렇지 않으면 업데이트가 완료됩니다.
이 모드의 특징:
- `--no-check-min-os`가 제공되지 않은 경우에만 [iTunes Search API](https://performance-partners.apple.com/search-api)에 연결됩니다.
- App Store에 로그인된 Apple Account가 필요합니다.
- 다음과 같은 경우 대화상자가 열립니다:
- App Store에 Apple Account가 로그인되어 있지 않은 경우.
- 다른 Apple Account가 소유한 각 앱의 경우.
- App Store에서 더 이상 사용할 수 없는 각 앱의 경우.
- `--no-check-min-os`가 제공된 경우, iTunes Search API가 보고한 릴리스가 현재 macOS와 호환되지 않는 각 앱의 경우.
- 멈춤 현상 발생 가능: 수십 개의 앱에 대한 다운로드를 시작하는 것은 안전하지만, 수백 개의 앱에 대해서는 App Store가 응답을 멈추게 할 수 있습니다. 이는 Apple의 속도 제한(rate limiting) 때문일 가능성이 높으며, 정확한 임계값, 지속 시간 및 영향은 현재 알려져 있지 않습니다.
