## Usage Examples

### Basic Patch Application

```bash
# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/Scottcjn/amd-rocm-power8-patches.git
cd amd-rocm-power8-patches

# Apply patches to ROCm source
cd /path/to/rocm-source
patch -p1 < /path/to/amd-rocm-power8-patches/rocm-power8.patch

# Build ROCm
mkdir build && cd build
cmake .. -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release
make -j$(nproc)
```

### Verify Patch

```bash
# Check if patch applies cleanly
patch --dry-run -p1 < rocm-power8.patch

# View patch contents
cat rocm-power8.patch
```

### Build with Optimizations

```bash
# Power8-specific optimizations
cmake .. \
  -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release \

## 🔧 Build Instructions

### Prerequisites (Built from Source)

Ubuntu 20.04 on POWER8 has broken packages. All prerequisites built from source:

# numactl 2.0.16

./configure --prefix=/usr/local && make -j$(nproc) && sudo make install

### Build ROCT-Thunk-Interface

### Build ROCR-Runtime
