🚀 Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/symfony/polyfill-intl-grapheme

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd polyfill-intl-grapheme

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. PHP (Composer)

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
PHP A PHP runtime is required.
Composer The package manager used to install PHP libraries.

composer install

Installs the PHP libraries listed in composer.json.

✅ Run it with a built-in server like php -S localhost:8000, then open http://localhost:8000 in your browser.

This component provides a partial, native PHP implementation of the
[Grapheme functions](https://php.net/intl.grapheme) from the
[Intl](https://php.net/intl) extension.

- [`grapheme_extract`](https://php.net/grapheme_extract): Extract a sequence of grapheme
  clusters from a text buffer, which must be encoded in UTF-8
- [`grapheme_stripos`](https://php.net/grapheme_stripos): Find position (in grapheme units)
  of first occurrence of a case-insensitive string
- [`grapheme_stristr`](https://php.net/grapheme_stristr): Returns part of haystack string
  from the first occurrence of case-insensitive needle to the end of haystack
