**Aether** is a lightweight system utility designed to streamline your Windows 10/11 experience. Unlike "modded ISOs" that delete system files and break updates, Aether uses native Windows APIs, Registry tweaks, and PowerShell to safely disable bloatware and unnecessary telemetry.

## 📥 Installation

### Option 1: The Easy Way (Recommended)
Most users do not need Python installed.

1.  Go to the **[Releases Page](https://github.com/BIGJ/Aether/releases)**.
2.  Download `Aether.exe`.
3.  Right-click and **Run as Administrator**.

> **Note:** If Windows SmartScreen appears, click *More Info* → *Run Anyway*. This occurs because the application is open-source and not digitally signed with a paid certificate.

### Option 2: Run from Source (Devs)

Requirements: Python 3.10+

cd Aether

# 2. Install Flet
pip install flet

# 3. Run the App
python main.py
```

🛡️ Safety & Reliability

Aether is built to be non-destructive.

System Restore: The app includes a checkbox to force a System Restore Point before running Debloat or applying settings.

Toggle-based: Almost every setting in the "Essential" and "Velocity" tabs can be toggled ON or OFF instantly.

Standard APIs: We do not patch system DLLs. We only modify Registry Keys (HKLM/HKCU) and Service States.

🏗️ Building the EXE

If you want to compile your own binary from the source code:

Install PyInstaller:
    code Bash

pip install pyinstaller

Run the build command:
code Bash

flet pack main.py --icon "assets/icon.ico" --name "Aether" --product-name "Aether Optimizer" --add-data "assets;assets" --uac-admin --noconsole

Note: The --uac-admin flag ensures the EXE always requests Admin rights, which are required for Registry editing.

While Aether includes safety features like Restore Points, modifying Windows settings, services, and the registry always carries a small risk. The developers are not responsible for any data loss or system instability.

Always backup important data.

Don't disable "Windows Defender" unless you have a third-party Antivirus.

Don't disable "Windows Update" services unless you know exactly what you are doing.
