# Installation Guide

1. Get the code
git clone https://github.com/EdjeElectronics/TensorFlow-Object-Detection-on-the-Raspberry-Pi

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd TensorFlow-Object-Detection-on-the-Raspberry-Pi

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Official Install Script

Easy Recommended
Prerequisites
  • Python 3 Python is required to use pip.
  • APT (Debian/Ubuntu 계열) Built into Debian/Ubuntu-based Linux distributions.
pip3 install tensorflow

Installs the package published on PyPI directly — no need to clone the source.

sudo apt-get install libatlas-base-dev

Installs directly from the APT package repository (Debian/Ubuntu-based).

sudo apt-get install python-tk

Installs directly from the APT package repository (Debian/Ubuntu-based).

sudo apt-get install libjpeg-dev libtiff5-dev libjasper-dev libpng12-dev

Installs directly from the APT package repository (Debian/Ubuntu-based).

After installing, open a new terminal and run the program's version command (e.g. --version) to confirm it worked.
