# CrypticImage: LSB Steganography Tool

I made this simple tool to tuck away secret messages in pictures. It uses something called Least Significant Bit (LSB) steganography. You can put a message into a photo and then pull it back out with a different script.

## How it's done

The program makes tiny changes to the red, green, and blue numbers for each pixel to store some computer code. Since it's just a tiny one-bit change, you can't tell the difference between the original picture and the one with the hidden message.

### What's in the project:

- **CrypticImage.py**: This is what you use to hide your message.
- **decoder.py**: Use this to find and read the secret message.
- **dog.jpg**: The picture I used to test things out.
- **encoded_dog.png**: This is the picture with the secret message hidden inside.

## How to use it

1.  Run `CrypticImage.py` to make the picture with the hidden message.
2.  Run `decoder.py` to see the message pop up in your computer's terminal.

Just a heads-up: I saved the output as a PNG file. That's because PNGs don't squish or lose data like JPGs do, which keeps your hidden message intact.
