# OpenClaw Research Paper Push Skill

An OpenClaw AgentSkill for scheduled research-paper alerts using OpenAlex and OpenClaw cron.

This skill helps researchers monitor journals, conferences, and research topics, then produce concise daily Chinese summaries of newly matched papers.

## What it does

- Create scheduled paper subscriptions.
- Query real recent papers from OpenAlex.
- Filter papers by research topics and preferred venues.
- Deduplicate results by DOI, OpenAlex ID, or title.
- Track `last_checked` dates locally.
- Generate concise Chinese summaries with title, authors, venue, date, link, matched topics, and relevance.
- Manage subscriptions through add/list/update/remove/test/run commands.

## Requirements

- OpenClaw with AgentSkill and cron support
- Python 3
- Internet access to OpenAlex
- Optional system `curl` fallback for embedded Python builds without HTTPS support

OpenAlex does not require an API key. You may optionally set `OPENALEX_MAILTO` for polite API usage.

## Example usage

Create a daily subscription:

```bash
python scripts/manage_papers.py add \
  --to "<recipient-id>" \
  --time "09:00" \
  --timezone "Asia/Shanghai" \
  --journals "IEEE TMI,NeuroImage,Medical Image Analysis" \

```

Run a real OpenAlex test query:

```bash
python scripts/manage_papers.py test \
  --since "2026-01-01" \
  --limit 5 \
  --journals "NeuroImage,Human Brain Mapping" \
  --topics "Alzheimer,MCI,dynamic functional connectivity,rs-fMRI,GNN"
```

Run a saved subscription:

```bash
python scripts/manage_papers.py run --id "1" --limit 10
```

## Local data

The script stores local subscription state under `data/` when used. Do not publish generated `data/*.json` files because they may contain recipient IDs or local scheduling state.
