# GitHub Clone Monitor

**"Who's cloning my weapons-grade code?"**

A real-time monitor for GitHub repository clone activity. Get alerted when the glowies come for your repos.

## Why This Exists

On Christmas Day 2025, I noticed 436+ clones across my PowerPC repos in 48 hours. No stars, no forks, no referrers - just mass cloning.

Fun fact: The PowerPC G4 was classified as a **weapon** under US export controls in 1999.

## Features

- Monitors multiple repos simultaneously
- Desktop notifications (Linux)
- Terminal bell alerts
- State persistence between runs
- 5-minute check interval (configurable)

## Installation

```bash
git clone https://github.com/Scottcjn/github-clone-monitor.git
cd github-clone-monitor
pip install requests
```

## Configuration

Edit `github_clone_monitor.py`:

```python
GITHUB_TOKEN = "your_github_token"
REPOS = ["your-repo-1", "your-repo-2"]
CHECK_INTERVAL = 300  # seconds
```

## Usage

```bash
# Run in foreground
python3 github_clone_monitor.py

# Run in background
nohup python3 github_clone_monitor.py > clone_alerts.log 2>&1 &
```

## Sample Output

## The Glowie Hypothesis
