# vidgen-core

Backend API and video processing pipeline for an AI-powered video generation platform.

## Architecture

- **API Server**: Next.js API routes (TypeScript)
- **Database**: PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM
- **Queue**: AWS SQS for async job processing
- **Storage**: S3-compatible object storage (Cloudflare R2)
- **AI**: OpenAI, Google Gemini, FAL AI
- **Workers**: Python job processors (video generation, captioning)
- **Notifications**: Firebase Cloud Messaging

```bash
cp .env.example .env && npm install && npm run db:push && npm run dev
```

## Setup

### Prerequisites

- Node.js 20+, Python 3.12+, PostgreSQL 16+
- AWS account (SQS), Cloudflare R2 or S3-compatible storage
- API keys: OpenAI, Google Gemini, FAL AI (optional)

### API Server

```bash
cp .env.example .env
npm install
npm run db:push
npm run db:seed
npm run dev
```

### Workers

```bash
cd workers && python -m venv venv && source venv/bin/activate
pip install -r requirements.txt && cp .env.example .env
python job_processor.py
```

### Docker

```bash
docker-compose up --build
```
