# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/jurassix/react-validation-mixin

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd react-validation-mixin

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Node.js

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
Node.js Node.js must be installed to use npm. The LTS version is recommended.

> npm install --save react-validation-mixin

Downloads and installs the libraries listed in package.json.

> yarn add react-validation-mixin

Type this command into your terminal and run it.

> npm install --save joi-validation-strategy

Downloads and installs the libraries listed in package.json.

> yarn add joi-validation-strategy

Type this command into your terminal and run it.

> npm install --save joi

Downloads and installs the libraries listed in package.json.

✅ After running the command, open the address shown in the terminal (usually something like http://localhost:3000) in your browser.

# react-validation-mixin
_Simple validation library for React._

This library simply wraps your React Component, transferring it props containing the boilerplate to validate a React form.

**react-validation-mixin** aims to provide a low-level toolkit for _React.Component_ validation, relying on existing validation libraries.

This library currently supports at least two strategies and the community is urged to expand the available strategies. Each strategy is responsible for the data validation and error message responses. A complete list of strategies can be found at [the end of this page](#strategies).

Users of the library are required to install and include the mixin and a chosen strategy.

### Install

Install **mixin** via npm OR yarn:

```javascript
> npm install --save react-validation-mixin
```
```javascript
> yarn add react-validation-mixin

Install **validation strategy** via npm OR yarn:

```javascript
> npm install --save joi-validation-strategy
```
```javascript
> yarn add joi-validation-strategy
```
Make sure you install the peer dependency [Joi](https://github.com/hapijs/joi) if using the _joi-validation-strategy_:

```javascript
> npm install --save joi
```
```javascript
> yarn add joi
```
