From the version 5 this package uses Typescript and modules, if you don't need them, please, use the version 4.

Fetches the information directly from the registry

https://www.npmjs.org/package/package-info

The information that you can retrieve are:
- package name
- package version
- package description
- package license
- package homepage
- package author name (from the 2.1.0 version 'author name' can be the list of maintainers who have contributed to the package, if this parameter is specified in the package.json of the package.)

## Install

```sh
$ npm install --save package-info
```

## Usage

This package is working with "type": "module"

```js
import info from 'package-info'

(async () => {
    console.log(await info('package-info'));
})();
```

## CLI

```sh
$ npm install --global package-info
```

```sh
$ package-info --help

Usage
 $ package-info <package-name>

Example
  $ package-info package-info
```

It will prints:
```
name: package-info
