A mini map which is able to show your location on http://agar.io/

## Installation

### Install for user script managers

The user script managers will automatically load agar-mini-map for you.

1. Install the user script manager
    * Chrome, Chromium: [Tampermonkey](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tampermonkey/dhdgffkkebhmkfjojejmpbldmpobfkfo)
    * Firefox: [greasemonkey](https://addons.mozilla.org/zh-TW/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/)
    * Opera: [Tampermonkey](https://addons.opera.com/zh-tw/extensions/details/tampermonkey-beta/?display=en)
    * Safari: [Tampermonkey](https://tampermonkey.net)
2. Install agar-mini-map
    1. Go to https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/10286-agar-mini-map
    2. Click `Install this script`
3. Alternatively, click [here][1] to install the script directly.

### Manually install for other browsers

1. Simply open up JavaScript Console
2. Enter the code of required library [MessagePack](http://cdn.jsdelivr.net/msgpack/1.05/msgpack.js) into console first
3. Then enter the code in [agar-mini-map.user.js][1] into console

Note: If you are taking this approach, you might have to re-select server to make it work.

## Share your vision to other players

With the minimap server, you can:
* Share the vision
* Mark cells which are in the same party (minimap server)

Minimap server allows you share your vision to others who already connected to the minimap server. The minimap server merges players' vision and send back the bigger vision to you.

The minimap server will take the first player's agar.io server address as the condition. Other players who want to connect to the minimap server will be verified whether the agar.io server address matches. Connection  The connection will succeed if the address matched, otherwise fails. In other words, you and other players have to be in the same agar.io server, or else you cannot share your vision.

### Minimap Server

#### For linux users

1. Install required packages: nodejs(includes npm), build-essential

2. To build a server
   ```
   cd server
   npm install && npm run build
```

3. To host a server
   ```
   npm run start
```
   Now you can access your minimap server at `ws://<hostname>:34343`

#### For Windows users

1. Install [nodejs](https://nodejs.org/download/) and make sure that you download the right version (says 64-bit)

2. Download the latest [release](https://github.com/dimotsai/agar-mini-map/releases) and unzip it

3. To host a server
   ```
   cd agar-mini-map-<version>-win-x64/server
   npm run start
```
   Now you can access your minimap server at `ws://<hostname>:34343`

### Client
* Simply enter an address of a minimap server, and click `connect`.
  e.g. ws://127.0.0.1:34343
