# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/hongtaocai/googlefinance

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd googlefinance

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Python

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
Python 3 On Windows, be sure to check 'Add Python to PATH' during installation.

$pip install googlefinance

Installs the Python libraries listed in requirements.txt (or similar).

✅ If it runs without errors and prints output in the terminal, it worked.

# googlefinance
Python module to get stock data from Google Finance API

This module provides **no delay**, **real time** stock data in NYSE & NASDAQ. 
 
Another awesome module, [yahoo-finance](https://github.com/lukaszbanasiak/yahoo-finance)'s data is delayed by 15 min, but it provides convenient apis to fetch historical day-by-day stock data.

**Please note that Google has closed this endpoint -- so the module may not work properly**

##Install
From PyPI with pip:
	
	$pip install googlefinance

From development repo (requires git)

$git clone https://github.com/hongtaocai/googlefinance.git
	$cd googlefinance
	$python setup.py install
