# temperx/temperx.go :bar_chart:

* temperx: Munin plugin written in PHP that monitors temperature and humidity
* temperx.go: Standalone tool written in Go that reports current temperature and humidity

These tools will only work for TEMPerHUM/TEMPerX USB devices with ID 413d:2107. Mine identifies itself as "TEMPerX_V3.1".

## temperx

### Prerequesites

This plugin relies entirely on the hid-query binary provided by https://github.com/edorfaus/TEMPered .
Make sure the binary uses libusb not hidraw. On Ubuntu 16.04 I did the following:

* apt install libhidapi-dev
* edit CMakeLists.txt:
```
-       find_library(HIDAPI_LIB NAMES hidapi-hidraw hidapi-libusb
+       find_library(HIDAPI_LIB NAMES hidapi-libusb
```
* continue with compilation

### Install

* install php-cli
* copy the hid-query binary to /usr/local/bin/
* copy temperx to /etc/munin/plugins
* create file /etc/munin/plugin-conf.d/temperx with this content:
```
[temperx]
user root
# optional calibration parameters:
env.t_offset 0
env.t_factor 1
env.h_offset 0
env.h_factor 1
```
* restart munin-node

### Troubleshooting

My dongle reports two USB paths:
```
$ hid-query -e
0002:0002:00 : 413d:2107 interface 0 : (null) (null)
0002:0002:01 : 413d:2107 interface 1 : (null) (null)
```
I had to use the path ending with "01". To try the "00" path, change the regex in temperx like this:
```
-       preg_match_all( '|(.*?01) : 413d:2107.*|', $raw, $matches );
+       preg_match_all( '|(.*?00) : 413d:2107.*|', $raw, $matches );
```

## temperx.go

### Installation

```
$ go get github.com/mreymann/temperx
$ go install github.com/mreymann/temperx
```
Should produce the temperx binary in $GOPATH/bin/

### Example

```
$ /root/go/bin/temperx
Temperature: 23.33, Humidity: 40.6
```

### Options

```
$ /root/go/bin/temperx -h
Show temperature and humidity as measured by TEMPerHUM/TEMPerX USB devices (ID 413d:2107)

Usage:
  temperx [flags]

Flags:
  -c, --conf string   Configuration file (default "/root/.temperx.toml")
  -h, --help          help for temperx
      --hf float      Factor for humidity (default 1)
      --ho float      Offset for humidity
      --tf float      Factor for temperature (default 1)
      --to float      Offset for temperature
  -v, --verbose       Verbose output
```

### Configuration file

```
$ cat /root/.temperx.toml
# Example: Celsius -> Fahrenheit
tf = 1.8
to = 32
```
