## 💡 Introduction

[Mars](https://github.com/duc-cnzj/mars) is an application built for DevOps, running on top of Kubernetes. It deploys an application identical to your production environment within seconds. Mars connects git, Kubernetes, and Helm: images are built through Git CI, then deployed as highly-available applications on Kubernetes — all in one seamless flow.

As DevOps takes hold, software development now demands not only efficiency but also effortless deployment — ideally a one-stop pipeline from coding, building, testing, to shipping.
[Mars](https://github.com/duc-cnzj/mars) was born for this. It ties together building, testing, and deployment with Git CI/CD, so that anyone — from senior developers to product people who don't write code — can deploy a production-grade application in 30 seconds. Teach once, ship anywhere.

## 🚀 Quickstart

> Default configuration (SQLite storage + in-memory message queue) has **zero external dependencies** — start it up first, then connect a real cluster.

# 2. Generate the default config.yaml (skipped if it already exists)
./bin/app init

# 3. Start the server
./bin/app serve -c config.yaml

# 4. Open the web UI
#    http://127.0.0.1:4000   default account admin / 123456
```

No Go toolchain? Run straight from source: `go run main.go serve -c config.yaml`.

To actually deploy applications into a Kubernetes cluster, configure two things in `config.yaml`:

- `git_server_plugin`: fill in your GitLab `token` and `baseurl`;
- `kubeconfig`: point to your kubeconfig file when running mars outside the cluster.

When you need NSQ/Redis for message queues, or MySQL for storage, [dev/docker-compose.yml](dev/docker-compose.yml) provides these dependencies (infrastructure only, not mars itself):

## ⚙️ Configuration

Mars reads YAML configuration via `-c, --config`; it defaults to `config.yaml` in the current directory (generated by `./bin/app init`; see the full example in [config_example.yaml](config_example.yaml)).

The binary's root command is `app`:
