## 🚀 Quick Start

### 1. Clone the repository

```bash
git clone https://github.com/Rohitjoshi9023/trip-planner-copilot-demo.git
cd trip-planner-copilot-demo
```

### 2. Install dependencies

```bash
npm install
```

### 3. Set up environment variables

Create a `.env.local` file in the root directory:

```env
# Google Maps API Key (client-side)
NEXT_PUBLIC_GOOGLE_MAPS_API_KEY=your_google_maps_api_key

# Google Maps API Key (server-side for Places API)
GOOGLE_MAPS_API_KEY=your_google_maps_api_key
```

> **Note:** You'll need a Google Maps API key with the following APIs enabled:
> - Maps JavaScript API
> - Places API
> - Geocoding API

### 4. Run the development server

```bash
npm run dev
```

Open [http://localhost:3000](http://localhost:3000) in your browser.

## 🤖 AI Tools Overview

Travel Copilot uses **19 AI-powered tools** that the copilot can invoke based on natural language requests:

### Navigation Tools
| Tool | Description |
|------|-------------|
| `flyToLocation` | Navigate the map to any location |
| `setMapView` | Switch between 2D, 3D, and Street View |
| `adjustZoom` | Zoom in or out on the map |

### Search Tools
| Tool | Description |
|------|-------------|
| `searchPlaces` | Search for places by name or type |
| `searchNearby` | Find places near a specific location |
| `getPlaceDetails` | Get detailed info about a place |
| `getDirections` | Get directions between locations |

### Marker Tools
| Tool | Description |
|------|-------------|
| `addMarker` | Add a marker to the map |
| `clearMarkers` | Remove all markers |

### Trip Management Tools
| Tool | Description |
|------|-------------|
| `createTrip` | Create a new trip |
| `listTrips` | Show all saved trips |
| `getTripDetails` | Get full trip itinerary |
| `deleteTrip` | Delete a trip |
| `addToItinerary` | Add a place to trip |
| `deleteTripItem` | Remove a place from trip |
| `moveTripItem` | Move place to different day |
| `removePlacesFromTrip` | Remove multiple places |
| `reschedulePlaces` | Move multiple places at once |
| `updateDayInfo` | Set day title and description |
