# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/sergeyt/meteor-typeahead

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd meteor-typeahead

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Node.js

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
Node.js Node.js must be installed to use npm. The LTS version is recommended.

npm install

Downloads and installs the libraries listed in package.json.

npm start

Starts the development/run server.

✅ After running the command, open the address shown in the terminal (usually something like http://localhost:3000) in your browser.

## Initializing typeahead
When the DOM is loaded through Meteor.startup on each template
```javascript
Meteor.startup(function() {
  Meteor.typeahead.inject();
});
```

#### with iron:router
Using iron:router the Meteor.startup is already triggered because it loads the template or the loading template and then inject the data. It must be delayed to when iron:router knows it is rendered completely.

```javascript
Template.demo.rendered = function() {
  Meteor.typeahead.inject();
};
```

### Styling

By default, there is no style applied with this package.
If you want the same styling as in the demo app, please do the following:
- add bootstrap: `meteor add twbs:bootstrap`
- add the [style.css](https://github.com/sergeyt/meteor-typeahead/blob/master/demo/style.css) file to your application
