# Raspberry Pi 4 – Self-Hosted Media Server & Dashboard

This repository contains everything needed to build a **self-hosted media automation server** on a **Raspberry Pi 4** (or any Linux host).  
It includes a complete Docker stack (VPN + qBittorrent + Radarr + Sonarr + Jellyfin + Prowlarr + FlareSolverr) and a lightweight **Flask dashboard** showing real-time server status.

## Components

| Service | Description |
|----------|-------------|
| **Gluetun (VPN)** | Routes all network traffic through a secure VPN container. |
| **qBittorrent** | Torrent client for automated downloads. |
| **Prowlarr** | Indexer manager for Radarr/Sonarr. |
| **Radarr** | Handles movie automation and library import. |
| **Sonarr** | Handles TV show automation. |
| **Jellyseerr** | Request interface for users (works with Radarr/Sonarr). |
| **Jellyfin** | Open-source media server for playback. |
| **FlareSolverr** | Solves Cloudflare challenges for certain indexers. |
| **Dashboard (Flask + HTML)** | Displays live VPN status, torrent speed, active downloads, Jellyfin sessions, and container health. |

## 1. System Requirements

- Raspberry Pi 4 (4 GB or 8 GB) or any Debian-based Linux server  
- **Docker** + **Docker Compose** installed  
- A stable Internet connection  
- External storage or mounted media drives  
- Python 3 (only for the dashboard part)

## 2. Install Docker and Compose

```bash
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo apt install -y docker.io docker-compose python3 python3-pip
sudo systemctl enable docker
````

Verify installation:

```bash
docker --version
docker compose version
```

## 3. Folder Structure

## 4. Docker Stack Setup

Place your `docker-compose.yml` file inside `~/stacks/vpn/` (see example below):

> It’s already configured for all services to share the VPN network via **Gluetun**.

cd ~/stacks/vpn
docker compose up -d
```

You can verify that everything runs correctly:

```bash
docker ps
```

All services should show as **Up**.

## 5. Access the Web Interfaces

## 6. Connect Everything

### Prowlarr → Radarr / Sonarr

1. In **Radarr** or **Sonarr** → *Settings → Indexers → Add → Prowlarr*
2. URL: `http://prowlarr:9696`
3. API Key: copy it from *Prowlarr → Settings → General*

### Prowlarr → FlareSolverr

1. In **Prowlarr** → *Settings → Indexers → Captcha Resolver*
2. URL: `http://flaresolverr:8191`

## 7. Dashboard Setup

The dashboard uses **Flask** (Python) and connects to your Docker containers, qBittorrent, and Jellyfin APIs.

### Install dependencies

From the same folder (`~/stacks/vpn/`):

```bash
pip3 install flask requests
```

### Configure environment variables

Create a `.env` file (or export them before running Flask):

```bash
export QBIT_HOST=http://localhost:8080
export QBIT_USER=admin
export QBIT_PASS=yourpassword
export JELLYFIN_HOST=http://localhost:8096
export JELLYFIN_API_KEY=your_jellyfin_api_key
```

### Run the dashboard

```bash
python3 app.py
```

Open it in your browser:

```
http://<your-pi-ip>:5000
```

You’ll see a minimal **Home Dashboard** showing:

* VPN connection state + public IP
* Torrent speeds and active downloads
* Running Docker containers
* Active Jellyfin playback sessions

## 8. API Keys

### Jellyfin

* Go to **Dashboard → API Keys → Add Key**
* Copy it into your environment variable `JELLYFIN_API_KEY`

### qBittorrent

* Set your **WebUI username and password** under
  *Tools → Options → WebUI → Authentication*
* Use those values for `QBIT_USER` and `QBIT_PASS` in your `.env`

## 9. Using the Dashboard with Docker

You can also containerize the dashboard itself:

```yaml
dashboard:
  build: .
  container_name: dashboard
  ports:
    - 5000:5000
  environment:
    - QBIT_HOST=http://qbittorrent:8080
    - QBIT_USER=admin
    - QBIT_PASS=yourpassword
    - JELLYFIN_HOST=http://jellyfin:8096
    - JELLYFIN_API_KEY=yourapikey
  volumes:
    - ./app.py:/app/app.py
    - ./index.html:/app/templates/index.html
  restart: unless-stopped
```

Then run:

```bash
docker compose up -d dashboard
```

## 10. Troubleshooting

| Issue                      | Fix                                                                   |
| -------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| VPN “DOWN”                 | Restart Gluetun: `docker restart gluetun`                             |
| Dashboard shows empty data | Check that your API keys are set and qBittorrent WebUI is accessible. |
| Prowlarr indexers disabled | Click **Reset** in Prowlarr UI or restart it.                         |
| Flask errors on startup    | Ensure `index.html` is in a folder named `templates/`.                |

## 11. Maintenance

Update all containers safely:

```bash
docker compose pull
docker compose up -d
```

Restart everything:

```bash
docker restart $(docker ps -q)
```

## 12. Deploy on Other Systems

This setup also works on:

* **Ubuntu Server**, **Debian**, or **Proxmox LXC**
* **x86 mini-PCs**, **VMs**, or **cloud servers** (just adjust mount paths)

To migrate:

1. Copy the entire folder `stacks/vpn/`
2. Re-export your environment variables
3. Run `docker compose up -d`
