# home-assistant-proxmox-management

## I'm sorry but the Home Assistant proxmox integration no longer provides the necessary attributes. Without these attributes this project is to be considered obsolete.

A custom **Proxmox Console** on Home Assistant to manage VM &amp; LXC, made with **Node-Red**.

## Requirements

This components are required for installation:

 - [Packages configuration](https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/configuration/packages/)
 
 ## Installation

The logic of node-red flows is based on the presence of **binary sensors** created by the **Proxmox VE integration**.

For example, with this configuration i have **four** binary sensors:

```yaml
proxmoxve:
  - host: 192.168.x.x
    username: hass
    password: fake
    verify_ssl: false
    realm: pve
    nodes:
      - node: pve
        vms:
          - 100
          - 102
          - 103
        containers:
          - 101
```

**Before proceeding with the installation, make sure you've created your Proxmox Binary Sensors and installed/configured all the required components!**

Ok, we can start the installation.

- Copy **proxmox.yaml** file in your packages directory.
 - Go to Node-Red web interface.
 - If not present, install the following Node-Red nodes from **Hamburger Icon** -> **Manage palette** -> **Install**
 
   - *node-red-contrib-string*
   - *node-red-contrib-bigssh*
 - Copy [this string](node-red-flow.json) and import flow from **Hamburger Icon** -> **Import**

 - Go to **Hamburger Icon** -> **Configuration Nodes**
 - Configure **SSH_Credentials** with your Proxmox Ip Address and credentials.
 - Configure **Hassio Broker MQTT** with your Broker Ip Address and credentials.
 - Deploy Flows.
 - If your Proxmox Host does not have the default name (**pve**), you need to edit two nodes:
 
   - Open "**get Proxmox Sensors**" node and replace **"pve" string** with your Proxmox Hostname.
   - Open "**event Sensor Change**" node and replace **"pve" string** with your Proxmox Hostname.
 - Deploy Flows.
 - Restart Home Assistant.

## Usage

This Proxmox Package installs three services:

Connects to your Proxmox Server and gets **some info** from the specified host.

**Service Data**

- **host:** Proxmox VM or LXC container name

**Output**

This service sets 6 **var** entity with host info that you can read:

- var.proxmox_status
 - var.proxmox_name
 - var.proxmox_id
 - var.proxmox_type
 - var.proxmox_memory
 - var.proxmox_cores

**Example**

```yaml
- service: script.proxmox_config
  data:
    host: 'hassio'
```

### script.proxmox_listsnapshot

Connects to your Proxmox Server and gets **snapshots list** from the specified host.

**Service Data**

- **host:** Proxmox VM or LXC container name

**Output**

This service sets the **var.proxmox_snapshots** entity with the list of snapshots of the specified host.

**Example**

```yaml
- service: script.proxmox_listsnapshot
  data:
    host: 'hassio'
```

### script.proxmox_command

Connects to your Proxmox Server and exec command on the specified host.

**Service Data**

- **host:** Proxmox VM or LXC container name
  - **command:** Command to execute on Proxmox

The **command** parameter can have these values:

**Output**

This service executes the specified command and sets **var.proxmox_log** entity.

**Example**

Shutdown *hassio-test* virtual machine.

- service: script.proxmox_command
  data:
    command: 'shutdown'
    host: 'hassio-test'
```

Create snapshot *backup* of *hassio-test* virtual machine.

```yaml
- service: input_text.set_value
  data:
    entity_id: input_text.proxmox_snapshot

    command: 'snapshot'
    host: 'hassio-test'
```

### Configuration

- Copy this code at the top of the your **Lovelace configuration**. They are the **Button Card templates**.
