# MorphESP240 Shields
Here I will publish finished and "Work-in Progress" Shields Designs for the MorphESP 240 by [@ccadic](https://github.com/ccadic).
The MorphESP 240 is available after a successful campaign [here on Crowdsupply](https://www.crowdsupply.com/morpheans/morphesp-240).

NB: I don't supply the firmware, I am busy with electronics :))

### - [Gamepad Shield 3D](https://github.com/hwreverse/MorphESP240_Shields/tree/main/mesp240_3Dpad) (complete)(UPDATED : 21.Aug.2021!)

- Next evolution of the Gamepad Shield in a new design with two additional analog josticks and a I2C Gyroscope + Accelerometer integrated circuit for Position & Inertia capture. 
- 2x4 Button Gamepad Shield and connection to optional Buzzer ready to be fabricated and assembled by the PCBA service of your choice. It can also be soldered by hand as I used only 0805 and SOT-23 footprints for the passives and the transistor (on the backside). Pushbuttons are classic, comfy 12mm x 12mm x 4.3/5mm units, that won't use that much your fingertips. 
 
- UPDATED: Moved all parts to front side. Changed strategy to factory assemby, therefore changed all passives to mainly 0402, at max 0603. Changed Accelerometer + Gyro to MPU6050, the Alps thumb joysticks to 3D161 from Korean Hroparts Elec (what was available @ JLCPCB/Parts for PCBA). 
- Removed the stupid 5V Connection. Added hardware debounce with RC-lowpass & Schmitt-Trigger on all buttons. 
- Added connection to +3.3V vibration motor. Added 2 LEDs Added 4 Pads (GND, +3.3V, SDA, SCL) on the backside of the PCB to be able to connect independently with the I2C BUS (gyro)
- Gerber files, BOM and CPL Files for Assembly (JLCPCB Format) and Project archive (Kicad 5.99 nightly only Format!) are available too.

- Let's you control all IR controllable appliances: TV's, AC units, set top boxes,... Can learn any IR Code (What are IR Receiver and MorphESP-240 power good for!) 
Has also a special "TV–π–soff!" Button, with a functionality borrowed from TV-B-Gone, which turn off any known TV!

### - [OPLL 8-bit Sound Card Shield](https://github.com/hwreverse/MorphESP240_Shields/tree/main/mesp240_opll) (complete)

- OPLL 8-Bit Sound Card Shield based on the cheap Yamaha YM2413B Sound Chip. As the MorphESP-240 only has 3.3V from the Lipo (5V only from USB), we had to generate 5V through a Boost converter for the YM2413B as well as the opamp. This implied that level conversion had to be added as well. Special care was exercised to get rid of the ripples for the 5V rail.
- Gerber files and archive are available too.

- This shield offers an interface with bidirectiional level shifting form the 11pin Interface of Sharp Vintage Pocket Computers of the PC-G850 Series. (and any other Sharp with a 11pin Connector) 
- This Project is ready to be fabricated, a zip of the Gerber files is included.. As usual, I included alsoa BOM and a CPL file in the main Directory in the [JLCPCB](https://jlcpcb.com/) Format for PCBA (PCB Assembly), so you don't have to solder those pesky 0402 Resistors and capacitors
