# Event Monitor

Standalone global event monitor UI with offline sample data, an offline basemap, map markers, live YouTube panels, source setup controls, market tiles, aircraft, and maritime layers.

## Run locally

```bash
npm install
npm run dev
```

Open `localhost:3000/monitor`.

No environment variables or private data connectors are required. The app ships with local sample data so it can be reviewed and modified without external services.

## Project surfaces

- `src/app/monitor` - map UI, feed, summaries, aircraft/ship toggles, and market panel
- `src/app/monitor/lib/sample-data.ts` - local fixture data used by the UI
- `src/app/monitor/lib/official-x-adapter.ts` - official X API-ready account plan helpers with no network calls
- `src/app/monitor/components` - display components for the monitor surface

## Official X API readiness

The source setup panel is a local planning surface for official X API ingestion:

- Add an account with `@handle` or an `https://x.com/handle` URL.
- The handle is normalized and shown in the tracked account list.
- Enabled accounts are staged into official X API v2 endpoint plans:
  - `GET /2/users/by?usernames=...`
  - `GET /2/users/:id/tweets?...`
- The app does not include tokens, credentials, backend fetches, or hosted ingestion.

To make it live, add your own backend integration that stores credentials securely, resolves usernames to user IDs, polls or streams according to your X API plan limits, and writes normalized events into the UI data model.

## Notes

This repository is intentionally UI-first. The included official X API adapter only stages account and endpoint plans; it does not fetch, store credentials, or call external APIs. Live media panels use public YouTube embeds. Add your own data layer in a separate integration module if you need live ingestion.
