## 📥 Installation

You can install the server using the compiled installers below or run it from the Python source.

### 🪟 Option A: Windows Installer

1.  Download the latest **`UseAs_Setup.exe`** from the [**Releases Page**](https://github.com/manjeetdeswal/Use-As-Server/releases).
2.  Run the installer to set up the server application.
3.  **Install Drivers:** (See box below).
4.  Launch **Use As Server** from your desktop.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> **Windows Drivers Required**
> To unlock all features, download these drivers manually:
> * 🎮 **Gamepad:** [Download ViGEmBus](https://github.com/nefarius/ViGEmBus/releases/latest)
> * 🎤 **Microphone:** [Download VB-CABLE](https://vb-audio.com/Cable/)
> * 📸 **Webcam:** [Download Unity Capture](https://github.com/schellingb/UnityCapture)
> * 🖥️ **Display:** [Download usbmmidd_v2](https://www.datronicsoft.com/download/usbmmidd_v2.zip)

### 🐧 Option B: Linux Installation (Debian/Ubuntu)

1.  Download the latest **`.deb`** package from the [**Releases Page**](https://github.com/manjeetdeswal/Use-As-Server/releases).
2.  **Remove the old version** (If upgrading, to prevent conflicts):
    ```bash
    sudo apt remove use-as-server
    ```
3.  **Install the new package** (and override directory warnings if they occur):
    ```bash
    sudo apt update
    sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite ./use-as-server_1.5_all.deb
    sudo apt --fix-broken install
    ```
    *(This automatically installs Python, FFmpeg, and required tools. Restart is required for everything to work).*

4.  **Linux Setup & Configuration:**

### 🎩 Option C: Linux Installation (Fedora/RHEL/CentOS)

1.  Download the latest converted **`.rpm`** package.
2.  **Remove the old version** (Crucial to avoid case-sensitivity or old file conflicts):
    ```bash
    sudo dnf remove Use-As-Server
    ```
3.  **Install the new package and override directory warnings** (converted packages often trigger `/usr` filesystem conflicts):
    ```bash
    sudo rpm -ivh --replacefiles use-as-server-1.5-2.noarch.rpm
    ```
    > **Note:** If RPM continues to block the installation due to system directory metadata conflicts, use the force flag:
    > `sudo rpm -ivh --force use-as-server-1.5-2.noarch.rpm`
    >
    > **Note:Convert deb to rpm:`-

> `sudo alien -r -c your_package.deb`

*(Follow the same Linux Setup & Configuration steps listed in Option B for Camera, Mic, and Gamepad functionality).*

### 🍎 Option D: macOS Installation

1.  Download the latest **`UseAs_Server_macOS.zip`** from the [**Releases Page**](https://github.com/manjeetdeswal/Use-As-Server/releases).
2.  Extract the ZIP and drag the **`UseAs Server.app`** into your **Applications** folder.
3.  Launch **Use As Server** from Launchpad or Finder.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> **macOS Permissions & Drivers Required**
> Apple enforces strict security constraints. Please complete these steps for full functionality:
> * 🛡️ **Permissions:** You MUST grant the app **Accessibility** (for mouse/keyboard) and **Screen Recording** (for display sharing) in `System Settings > Privacy & Security`.
> * 🖥️ **Display Extension:** [Download BetterDisplay](https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay). Create a virtual dummy display to extend your workspace to your phone instead of just mirroring it.
> * 🎤 **Microphone:** [Download BlackHole 2ch](https://existential.audio/blackhole/). Go to Mac Sound Settings and set your Input to BlackHole.
> * > * 🎤 **Speaker:** [Download BlackHole 2ch](https://existential.audio/blackhole/). Go to Mac Sound Settings and set your Output to BlackHole.
> * 📸 **Webcam:** [Download OBS Studio](https://obsproject.com/). Open OBS and click "Start Virtual Camera" to install the required system extension.

### 🐍 Option E: Run from Source (Advanced)

If you are a developer, you can run the raw Python script directly.

#### 1. Prerequisites
* **Python 3.10** or newer installed.

#### 2. Install Dependencies

**Windows:**
```cmd
pip install -r requirements.txt
Linux:

Bash
sudo apt install python3-tk python3-pip python3-venv v4l2loopback-dkms portaudio19-dev
pip3 install -r requirements.txt --break-system-packages
macOS:

Bash
pip3 install setuptools protobuf==3.20.3
pip3 install -r requirements_mac.txt
3. Run Server
Windows:

Bash
python UseAsServerWin.py

Linux:
Bash
python UseAsServerLinux.py

macOS:

Bash
python3 UseAsServerMac.py
