# Define Done

> AI removed the ceiling on output. You need to build the ceiling on expectation.

A Claude Code plugin that fixes the *"AI made me feel behind"* problem.
3 binary outcomes per day. Hard stop at 5pm. Track 3/3 days, not tasks.

## What's in the plugin

Plus one skill (`define-done`) and one customizable HTML template with localStorage persistence, live scorecard, dark mode support.

## Install

### Via Claude Code marketplace

You will be prompted to set:
- Brand name (default: `DEFINE DONE`)
- Accent color (default: lavender `#8182C1`)
- Background color (default: warm off-white `#f0edee`)
- Hard stop time (default: `17:00`)
- Outcomes per day cap (default: `3`)
- Footer signature

### Manual install

Generates a 7-day branded tracker. Saved to `008_Builds/define-done/{date}-define-done.html`.

## The 6 rules every outcome follows

1. **Named artifact.** *Send Acme proposal pdf to sarah@acme.com* — not *work on Acme*.
2. **Verb-first, one sentence.** Imperative form. No hedges.
3. **Binary done/not-done at 5pm.** Yes or no.
4. **No "and".** Split or kill one half.
5. **No internal dependencies inside a day.** Outcome 2 cannot depend on outcome 1 shipping.
6. **External verbs > internal verbs.** Prefer *send / ship / publish / merge / deploy*. Reject *review / think / plan / explore*.

## Brand it yours

The plugin uses `userConfig` so you get prompted at install for your brand. After install, every tracker renders in your colors. No code changes required.

Want to go deeper? Edit `skills/define-done/templates/tracker-template.html` and override the CSS vars:

Auto dark mode is built in via `prefers-color-scheme`.

## Why this exists

Max Mitcham, LinkedIn, June 2026:
> *"AI has played with my mental health. I can now do 10 tasks in a day that would have taken a week. Because of that, I'm left at the end of each day wishing I'd done more."*

The fix isn't doing more. The fix is defining *done* before the day starts and stopping when you hit it.

This plugin makes that mechanical. The system runs you. You don't run the system.
