# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/habx/apollo-multi-endpoint-link

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd apollo-multi-endpoint-link

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Node.js

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
Node.js Node.js must be installed to use npm. The LTS version is recommended.

npm i @habx/apollo-multi-endpoint-link

Type this command into your terminal and run it.

✅ After running the command, open the address shown in the terminal (usually something like http://localhost:3000) in your browser.

### Setup

new ApolloClient({
 link: ApolloLink.from([
   new MultiAPILink({
       endpoints: {
           housings: 'https://housings.api',
           projects: 'https://projects.api',
           ...
       },
       createHttpLink: () => createHttpLink(),
     }),
 ])
})
```

NB: Since default value of `httpSuffix` is `/graphql`, endpoints above will be transformed to `https://housings.api/graphql` and `https://projects.api/graphql`.
If you do not have common suffix, you can pass an empty string as `httpSuffix` to avoid this transformation.

NB 2: Supports [apollo-link-rest](https://github.com/apollographql/apollo-link-rest) library

### Queries

#### Query with static api name :

```graphql
query projectList($params: Params) @api(name: projects) {
  projects(params: $params) {
    nodes {
      id

```

#### Query with dynamic api name

```graphql
query projectList($params: Params) @api(contextKey: "apiName") {
  projects(params: $params) {
    nodes {
      id
      name
    }
  }
}
```

```ts
const response = useQuery(myQuery, { context: { apiName: "projects" } });
```

#### Setting custom context

Sometimes you might need to set custom [apollo link context](https://www.apollographql.com/docs/link/links/http/#context) like `headers` for authentication purpose.
This link allows it by doing as following.

```typescript
new MultiAPILink({
    getContext: (endpoint) => {
      if (endpoint === 'yourendpoint-with-auth') {
        return ({
          headers: {
            'Authorization': 'xxxx',
          }
        })
      }
      return {}
    },
    ...
})
```
