## Installation

To set up and run this project locally, follow these steps for both Windows and Linux:

### 1. Clone the Repository
First, clone the repository to your local machine:
```bash
git clone https://github.com/AbolDev/image-background-remover-webapp.git
cd image-background-remover-webapp
```

### 2. Create a Virtual Environment
It's recommended to create a virtual environment to manage dependencies independently of other projects.

#### On Windows
1. Open Command Prompt (CMD) or PowerShell.
2. Run the following commands:
   ```bash
   python -m venv venv
   venv\Scripts\activate
   ```

#### On Linux
1. Open your terminal.
2. Run the following commands:
   ```bash
   python3 -m venv venv
   source venv/bin/activate
   ```

After activating the environment, you should see `(venv)` at the beginning of your command line prompt, indicating that the virtual environment is active.

### 3. Install Dependencies
With the virtual environment active, install the required dependencies using `pip`:
```bash
pip install -r requirements.txt
```

### 4. Run the Application
Once the dependencies are installed, start the Flask web server:

```bash
python app.py
```

By default, the application will be accessible at `http://127.0.0.1:80`.

### Deactivating the Virtual Environment
When you’re done, you can deactivate the virtual environment:

- On Windows, type:
  ```bash
  venv\Scripts\deactivate
  ```
  
- On Linux, type:
  ```bash
  deactivate
  ```

Following these steps ensures a clean and isolated setup, making it easier to manage dependencies and prevent conflicts.

## Usage

1. **Upload Image**: Use the “Click to upload” or drag-and-drop your image file into the designated area.
2. **Remove Background**: Click the "Remove Background" button to start processing.
3. **Download Image**: Once processing is complete, click "Download Image" to save the image with the background removed.
