# hyperclock

Distributed, secure clock over a [hypercore](https://github.com/mafintosh/hypercore)

Useful if you need a trusted clock in a distributed system.

## Usage

``` js
const hyperclock = require('hyperclock')

const clock = hyperclock('./clock')

clock.createReadStream({live: true}).on('data', console.log)
```

Running the above prints stuff similar to

## API

#### `feed = hyperclock(storage, [key], [options])`

Create a new clock feed. The returned value is a [hypercore](https://github.com/mafintosh/hypercore) that
represents a clock you can replicate elsewhere using normal hypercore replication.

The first entry is a header identifying this as a hyperclock and the subsequent ones look like this

```js
{
  time: unixTime,
  random: <32 random bytes>
}
```

You can use the random values to prove that you've seen a specific time in a distributed system
assuming you trust this clock.

`storage`, `key`, and `options` are all forwarded to the hypercore constructor.

Per default the time is added every `1000ms`. If you want to change this set the `{interval: ms}` option.
