ASSVD

This is an intentionally vulnerable driver that contains very simple vulnerabilities. Simple to the point of being unrealistic. It is not meant to compete against Hacksys Extreme Vulnerable Driver, check that out if you want moreof a challenge. This is intended to be used for "beginner" level kernel-mode exploitation and will be part of a blog series walkthrough the basic fundemantals of driver development and Reverse Engineering drivers to find vulnerabilities and write kernel-mode exploits.

If you are preparing for EXP-401 or looking for another challenge before taking the OSEE exam you can download the release version of the driver and RE to write an exploit as a confidence booster. You should find it easier than other challenges.

I apprently crashed enough with defender running and internet conenction to block my driver testing certificate on this one so you will need to enable test signing from an administrator command prompt:

bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

I will update this along the way as I actually write out the walkthrough blog. I will also try to add some more complex vulnerabilities in the future.
