# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/errwischt/stacktrace-parser

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd stacktrace-parser

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Node.js

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
Node.js Node.js must be installed to use npm. The LTS version is recommended.

npm install

Downloads and installs the libraries listed in package.json.

npm start

Starts the development/run server.

✅ After running the command, open the address shown in the terminal (usually something like http://localhost:3000) in your browser.

# StackTrace-Parser

This parser parses a stack trace from any browser or Node.js and returns an array of hashes each representing a line.

The goal here is to support every browser even old Internet Explorer stack traces will work.

## Install

```bashv0.1
npm install stacktrace-parser
```

## Usage

```JavaScript
import * as stackTraceParser from 'stacktrace-parser';

try {
  throw new Error('My error');
} catch(ex) {
  const stack = stackTraceParser.parse(ex.stack);
}
```

Every line contains five properties: `lineNumber`, `methodName`, `arguments`, `file` and `column` (if applicable).

- parse stack traces from other sources (Ruby, etc) (v0.3)
