# Installation Guide

1. Get the code

git clone https://github.com/kamilbaczek/Modular-monolith-by-example

Downloads the entire project code from GitHub to your computer.

cd Modular-monolith-by-example

Moves into the project folder you just downloaded.

2. Docker

Easy Recommended

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
Docker Desktop Needed to build and run containers. Install it and keep it running in the background.

docker compose -f docker-compose.local.yml up -d --build

Runs the command against the services defined in the compose file.

✅ Run docker compose ps to check the containers are Up. If the README mentions a port, open http://localhost:PORT in your browser.

3. .NET

Prerequisites

Git Needed to download the project code from GitHub.
.NET SDK The SDK required for the dotnet command.

cd Deployment/Infrastructure

This project's files live in a subfolder, so move into it first.

dotnet restore

Downloads the packages the project depends on.

dotnet run

Builds the project and runs it immediately.

With a user-friendly interface and built-in notifications, the tool ensures smooth and efficient communication, reducing the time and effort required to manage inquiries and respond to clients' requests. The system acts as a bridge between the estimator and the client, streamlining the process of inquiry and providing a centralized platform for all communication related to the estimation process.

# Purpose of the project 🎯

The purpose of the project is to provide guidance and inspiration for .NET developers in the community on how to build a system using a modular monolith architecture style and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles. The focus is on showcasing the benefits and advantages of using a modular monolith architecture, as well as demonstrating how to implement DDD principles in a .NET development environment. The goal is to help .NET developers understand how to design and develop systems that are scalable, maintainable, and flexible, while still providing a high degree of functionality and performance. By sharing the lessons learned and best practices developed through the creation of this system, the project aims to contribute to the advancement of the .NET development community and help developers to create better and more efficient software.
