# 🧠 Mental Health Reddit Sentiment Dashboard

A compassionate, AI-powered dashboard that monitors and analyzes recent posts from mental health subreddits using sentiment analysis and generates empathetic replies to users in distress.

Built with **Streamlit**, **Transformers**, **PRAW**, and **Ollama**, this dashboard assists in identifying and responding to negative sentiments in communities like `r/depression_help`, `r/SuicideWatch`, etc.

- 📊 **Sentiment Analysis:** Classifies posts as Positive, Neutral, or Negative using RoBERTa.  
- 💬 **Compassionate Reply Generator:** Generates supportive replies for negative posts using Mistral via Ollama.  
- 📈 **Interactive Dashboard:** Displays sentiment distribution, post content, language, and replies.  
- 📨 **Manual & Auto Reply:** Option to send simulated or manual replies.

## ⚙️ Setup Instructions

### 1. Clone the repository

```bash
git clone https://github.com/your-username/mental-health-dashboard.git
cd mental-health-dashboard
```

### 2. Create and activate a virtual environment

```bash
python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate  # On Windows: venv\Scripts\activate
```

### 3. Install dependencies

```bash
pip install -r requirements.txt
```

### 4. Set environment variables

Create a file named `.env` in the root directory with:

```bash
REDDIT_CLIENT_ID=your_client_id
REDDIT_CLIENT_SECRET=your_client_secret
REDDIT_USERNAME=your_reddit_username
REDDIT_PASSWORD=your_reddit_password
```

### 5. Run the Streamlit app

```bash
streamlit run app.py
```

## 🧪 Requirements

Install required Python libraries:

```bash
streamlit transformers torch pandas altair langdetect praw ollama python-dotenv
```

Or all at once:

```bash
pip install streamlit transformers torch pandas altair langdetect praw ollama python-dotenv
```

## 🚧 Notes

- Actual Reddit replies are simulated by default to prevent moderation issues.  
- You can enable real replies by uncommenting the `post.reply(...)` lines in the code.  
- Ollama must be installed locally and the Mistral model should be available for reply generation.
