# microstructure

**Framework for Efficient Simulation and Beautified Visualisation of Multiscale Mesomechanical Phenomena**

The [`microstructure`](https://github.com/M1TE5H/microstructure) framework constitutes scientific software which is intended to be part of an in-house codebase for materials modelling, simulation and informatics.

- Efficient Simulation
    - Provide reasonable abstraction to model microstructural complexity whilst employing linear/logarithmic scaling algorithms
    - Approximate using closed-form analytical or semi-analytical formulae with fast numerical methods as needed
    - Apply game programming (i.e. low-level data transformation-centric) optimisations to allow decent performance on desktop hardware
    - Modern `c++` Practices: utilise `const` and `constexpr` support so most computations can be performed at compile time.

- Beautified Visualisation
    - Adopt graphic design and data visualisation techniques for colour, shape, composition, narrative, etc.
    - Allow output images and animations for the various formats that appear in academic literature
    - Produce high-resolution raster and/or vector art
