## 🚀 Installation (2 minutes)

### QUICK INSTALL - WINDOWS:

1. **Run `INSTALL.bat` as Administrator** (right-click → Run as administrator)
2. **Restart Premiere Pro**
3. **Window → Extensions → Clip Assassin**

Done!

### QUICK INSTALL - macOS:

1. **Open Terminal** (Applications → Utilities → Terminal)
2. **Navigate to the downloaded folder:**
   ```bash
   cd /path/to/Clip_Assassin_v1.0
   ```
3. **Make script executable:**
   ```bash
   chmod +x INSTALL.sh
   ```
4. **Run the installer:**
   ```bash
   ./INSTALL.sh
   ```
5. **Restart Premiere Pro**
6. **Window → Extensions → Clip Assassin**

Done!

### MANUAL INSTALLATION - WINDOWS:

1. **Enable PlayerDebugMode:**
   ```
   Win + R → regedit
   Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\CSXS.12
   Create new String Value:
     Name: PlayerDebugMode
     Value: 1
   ```

2. **Copy plugin:**
   ```
   Copy the entire "clip_assassin" folder to:
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\
   ```

3. **Restart Premiere Pro**

### MANUAL INSTALLATION - macOS:

1. **Enable PlayerDebugMode:**
   ```bash
   defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.12 PlayerDebugMode 1
   ```
   Or edit the plist file:
   ```bash
   /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Add :PlayerDebugMode string 1" \
     ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.CSXS.12.plist
   ```

2. **Copy plugin:**
   ```bash
   cp -R clip_assassin ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/
   ```

3. **Set permissions:**
   ```bash
   chmod -R 755 ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/clip_assassin
   ```

4. **Restart Premiere Pro**

## 💡 Usage

### Step 1: Target Selection
Make sure you have a video clip in your Premiere Pro project.

### Step 2: Open Clip Assassin
**Window → Extensions → Clip Assassin**

### Step 3: Mark Your Targets
Enter time ranges (one per line):
```
1m57-2m08
3m10-3m22
00:01:30:15-00:02:00:20
```

### Step 4: Execute
- Click **"🗡️ RUN THE BLADES"** to keep ONLY the marked sections
- Click **"⚔️ REVERSE BLADES"** to DELETE the marked sections and keep everything else

The plugin creates a new sequence called "Assassinated - [your clip name]" with your selected result!

## 📋 Supported Time Formats

All these formats work:

```
✅ 1m57-2m08                      (minutes m seconds)
✅ 1:57-2:08                      (colons)
✅ 0:02:25-0:02:45                (with hours)

✅ 00:01:30:15-00:02:00:20        (timecode with frames - non-drop)
✅ 00:01:30;15-00:02:00;20        (timecode with frames - drop-frame)
✅ 1m57–2m08                      (en dash)
✅ 1m57—2m08                      (em dash)
✅ 1m57 - 2m08                    (with spaces)
✅ 1m57-2:08                      (mixed formats)
```

**Format structure:** `start-end`
- **start** = beginning of range
- **end** = end of range
- **-** = any dash type (-, –, —)

**Timecode with frames:**
- Use `:` for non-drop-frame: `00:01:30:15` (HH:MM:SS:FF)
- Use `;` for drop-frame: `00:01:30;15` (HH:MM:SS;FF)
- Framerate is automatically detected from your clip

## 🎬 How It Works

1. Plugin finds your video clip in the project
2. Detects framerate automatically from the clip
3. Creates a new sequence with the same properties as your clip
4. Extracts only the time ranges you specified (or inverts them in reverse mode)
5. Result: Clean sequence with your selected parts

**Example - Normal Mode (RUN THE BLADES):**

```
Original video: 30 minutes

Time ranges:
  1m57-2m08    (11 seconds)
  3m10-3m22    (12 seconds)
  4m27-4m43    (16 seconds)

Result sequence:
  [Segment 1: 11s] [Segment 2: 12s] [Segment 3: 16s]
  Total: 39 seconds
```

**Example - Reverse Mode (REVERSE BLADES):**

```
Original video: 10 minutes (600 seconds)

Time ranges to DELETE:
  1m00-2m00    (60 seconds to remove)
  5m00-6m00    (60 seconds to remove)

Result sequence:
  [0:00-1:00] [2:00-5:00] [6:00-10:00]
  Total: 480 seconds (everything EXCEPT the marked parts)
```

## 📂 Requirements

- **Adobe Premiere Pro 2025** (CEP 12)
- **Windows** (7/8/10/11) or **macOS** (10.12+)
- **Administrator/sudo rights** (for installation only)

## 🛠️ Troubleshooting

**Plugin doesn't appear in menu?**
- **Windows:** Verify PlayerDebugMode is set to "1" in registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\CSXS.12)
- **macOS:** Run `defaults read com.adobe.CSXS.12 PlayerDebugMode` to verify it's set to "1"
- Restart Premiere Pro completely
- Check plugin folder is in extensions directory

**Panel doesn't open?**
- Restart your computer (not just Premiere)
- Check `.debug` file port isn't already in use
- **macOS:** Check System Preferences → Security & Privacy for any blocks

**Wrong cuts / timing issues?**
- Double-check time format: `start-end` (not single times)
- Verify times are within video duration
- Note: Sub-second precision may vary by ~0.01s due to frame rounding

**No targets found error?**
- Make sure you have at least one video clip imported in your project
- Plugin automatically selects the first video clip it finds

## 💀 Mission Status Codes

- ✅ **"Mission accomplished!"** - Cuts executed successfully
- ⚠️ **"No time ranges entered"** - You forgot to mark targets
- ❌ **"No target found"** - Import a video clip first
- ❌ **"No valid targets identified"** - Check your time format

---

## 📝 Tips

- Mix formats freely: `1m57-2:08` works perfectly
- Use timecode with frames for frame-accurate cuts: `00:01:30:15`
- Framerate is automatically detected - no manual setup needed
- Use **RUN THE BLADES** to keep marked sections
- Use **REVERSE BLADES** to delete marked sections and keep the rest
- Spaces are automatically removed
- All dash types accepted (-, –, —)
- Copy time ranges from spreadsheets/notes directly
- Works with high framerates (59.94, 120fps) without issues
- Drop-frame (`;`) and non-drop-frame (`:`) both supported
